The MHCMC is focused on meeting the needs of those in the African American,Hispanic/Latino, American Indian, Pacific-Islander and Multi-racial populations.
MHCMC was formed in 1986 by concerned citizens, health professionals and advocates who were determined to impact and improve the health status of all minorities in Marion County.
The Coalition strives to empower citizens to take a proactive approach to improve the quality of life and reduce existing health disparities and deficiencies.
Job Opening- Health Educator, Minority Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Initiative.
Health Educator plans, implements, and evaluates health education programs of the Minority Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Initiative. Provides consultations and guidance to individuals and groups in the community through educational outreach efforts. Also, the Health Educator assists in communicating and promoting the objectives and services of the Minority Health Coalition of Marion County to general public, community agencies, organizations and professional groups.
License/Certification Required- Completed a Baccalaureate degree in Health Education, Health Promotion, Community Health or one of the social or behavior sciences; Certification by CHES/CHES eligible.
