What is MHCMC

Our Mission

The Minority Health Coalition of Marion County is looking for a HIV Outreach/Peer Educator. The educator must be innovative and a self-starter and must demonstrate the ability to develop outreach locations in order to promote early HIV testing and to ensure that all persons receive HIV/STD education. Also, he or she will provide information regarding transmission, prevention, and behavioral change techniques.
Education and Certification Required:
Completion of the following trainings: Fundamentals of HIV Prevention Counseling, Counseling, Testing and Referral, Client Centered Prevention Counseling, Outreach Techniques and Quality Assurance

The MHCMC is focused on meeting the needs of those in the African American,Hispanic/Latino, American Indian, Pacific-Islander and Multi-racial populations.


MHCMC was formed in 1986 by concerned citizens, health professionals and advocates who were determined to impact and improve the health status of all minorities in Marion County.
